Part 6 The Light-Exporter Chapter 69: Changing Targets
On the Misty Sea, which was not covered by the clouds of war, the “Future” was slowly sailing in the direction of the Berserk Sea, surrounded by ships.
The “Star General”, who had nothing to do lately but to wait for the Moss Ascetic Order to respond to her request, was strolling on the deck, enjoying the sunlight that pierced through the light mist.
In a glance, she saw Frank Lee.
The first mate of the “Future”, the second person of the “Star Pirates”, wearing light blue pants made of thick canvas and a white shirt without the top two buttons, revealing thick brown chest hair, just like a giant bear in human form.
He stood at the bow of the ship, looking into the distance, not knowing what he was thinking about, and the whole person seemed rather downcast.
Kadriya’s footsteps couldn’t help but slow down a little, turning around and about to enter the cabin.
”Captain!” Frank noticed her and looked over expectantly, as if waiting for this “General above the stars” to answer his questions.
Gadelia paused for a moment, pushed up the heavy glasses on the bridge of her nose, and asked in a casual manner:
”What are you confused about?”
Frank pondered how to phrase his question and answered seriously:
”I’m revisiting what I’ve invented and created over the years.”
”What does …… have to say about that?” Gadelia asked cooperatively.
Frank nodded, bitterly:
”There is so much to reflect on.
”Among them, the most crucial one is that those things I created are still lacking one most important thing.”
Guardia was puzzled for a moment, and didn’t want to press the issue, but in the end, with the idea that she was responsible for all the crew of the Future, she spoke with deliberation:
”What is it?”
Frank’s expression became instantly solemn:
”They all lack souls!”
”It’s a good thing that wheat, grapes and mushrooms don’t have souls ……,” Gadelia subconsciously advised before saying, “It’s not a field you can touch right now, you’re just a Sequence 5 ‘Druid’.”
Frank’s eyes lit up as he listened, and he blurted out:
”I see!”
Kadriya’s face wrinkled slightly:
”You, understand what?”
Frank swept away his earlier slump:
”I understand what the problem is, and that is, what I want to create is beyond the limits of the ‘Druid’s’ abilities.
”So, Captain, instead of being a ‘Druid’, I’m going to become a ‘Classical Alchemist’!”
This was Sequence 4 of the ‘Plowman’ pathway, the starting point for demigods.
”Star Above General” Gadelia’s expression froze for several seconds before she assumed the stance of a captain and a demigod and nodded gently:
”It’s good to have a goal, but you have to recognize how hard it is.”
The implication was, don’t have any expectations, and don’t take this goal seriously.
Frank Lee, who had received “encouragement”, immediately nodded his head heavily:
”I’ll work hard!”
In order to not let Frank Lee mess up, Gadelia decided to keep the progress of this matter in her own hands:
”I will also help you.”
When the time comes, even if it pays off, Frank Lee can be told “I’m sorry.”
Frank was very glad, and thanked the captain from the bottom of his heart, and went on:
”I will also write to Germaine Sparrow and ask him for some help.
”He is a good friend of mine!”
What Frank didn’t know was that the last few letters he had written for the better part of a year had gone through a rather complicated process:
Delivered to the messenger – messenger to Forsyth – Forsyth forwarded them at the Tarot party or asked Mr. Fool for help.
Without another word, Katriya pushed up her thick glasses and turned to enter the cabin.
Back in the captain’s cabin, before she had a chance to think about what had just happened, she saw a letter on the desk with the brass sextant.
With a rush of joy in her heart, not bothering to use her Extraordinary Ability, Kadriya quickly walked over, picked up the letter, and opened it.
It came from Bernadette, who wrote directly after a few brief pleasantries:
”If you have any free time recently, you can secretly come to Rasha once.”
Lasha was a rather secluded island on the Sea of Mists, harboring the palace of the “Queen of Mysteries” – it was called the “Emerald City”.
Gadelia read this sentence several times over, and the corners of her mouth unconsciously hooked up.
……
Birkeland, West End, Audra’s cottage.
Emlyn White once again met the middle-aged gentleman-like blood baron of Casimir Audra.
”What did Lord Nibais say?” Emlyn controlled himself and tried to look less impatient.
Casimir looked into Emlyn’s bright red eyes and said:
”He just asked me to tell you that the entire Blood Race does not have any spare Earls with extraordinary characteristics, so we can only wait for any of the existing Earls to pass away due to old age or accidents and leave behind a legacy.”
The blood race had a long life compared to humans, even without a title, ordinary members could live for about three hundred years, in this case, they could do the accumulation little by little, taking up every level and not letting too many extraordinary traits to be left vacant.
Therefore, whether it’s an ordinary member promoting to baron or a baron becoming a viscount, it’s not that easy to either wait for the incumbents to pass away, acquire them from the outside, or make enough meritorious deeds to get a precious bestowal.
And compared to the first two ranks, a Viscount becoming an Earl was an even more difficult thing to do, because Blood Counts were already demigods and could easily live for over a thousand years, those Viscounts would have to wait generation after generation before they could hope to wait for an Earl to pass away.
Because of this, as soon as an Earl trait became available, it would immediately be distributed instead of being put into “storage”.
If the Baron and Viscount traits, to a greater or lesser extent, still existed in the form of extraordinary materials and seals in the Blood Clan’s treasure trove, only in small quantities, and each one had to be given very strictly, then the Earl’s trait really did not have a single spare part.
This answer was expected by Emlyn, he looked at Baron Casimir and nodded gently:
”That is to say, as soon as any earl passes away, it will be my turn?”
”No.” Cassimi shook his head, “Although you have accumulated a lot of merits, the order of precedence is not yet first.”
”Where do I rank?” Emlyn frowned slightly at first, then stretched to keep from making it obvious.
Cassimi coughed and cleared her throat:
”Twelfth place.”
…… This wait until the end of the day may not be the turn of the …… Patriarch Since he gave me the heavy responsibility of saving the community, why not arrange these things? My “Crimson Scholar” magic potion has been digested for several months …… Could it be that this is another test? Emlyn belabored the question, and after a few seconds of silence, asked thoughtfully:
”If, I get the Earl trait from somewhere else, will the clan help me prepare for the ceremony?”
Cassimi exhaled and said:
”Of course!”
Emlyn did not linger any longer and left the Audra family’s villa, taking a carriage back to his own residence.
He hadn’t been to the Harvest Church since Fennebot declared war on Rune, and had only heard from the Stars that the doors had been broken down, and a lot of things had been taken away, making it a place for vagabonds to live.
As for Father Utravsky, he spent half a month in a cell behind the door of Charnes, and half a month in a room on the upper floor of St. Samuel’s Church, next to Archbishop Béccland, and so on and so forth.
–This was the fear that staying behind the Charnis Gate for a long time would cause Father Utrafsky to suffer irreversible and untreatable erosion, and with the situation being so tense, the Church of the Dark Night wished to leave a buffer point, so that in the future they could also use it to express their goodwill and open negotiations.
Although Emlyn was not a follower of the Black Night and even hated the church somewhat, he would regularly go to St. Samuel’s Church twice a month to visit Father Utrafsky.
”Where to go to obtain the Earl trait?……” Feeling that he had fallen behind and might not be able to take on the responsibility of saving the pack, Emlyn looked at the depressed street while seriously thinking about every possibility.
He soon had some ideas:
”Ms. ‘The Hidden One’ mentioned that the Aurora Society’s ‘Sage of the Darkness’ grazed a ‘Witch King’, which corresponds to the Count’s trait, so if we can bait it like a ‘Holy One of Secrets’ like hunting this demigod of the ‘Shepherd’ pathway, then the problem would be solved ……
”However, with that previous lesson, the ‘Holy One of Secrets’ shouldn’t be able to easily step into the trap again ……
”There’s also the possibility of directly attracting the King of Angels ……”
This was something that had been discussed at the Tarot meeting, and the conclusion reached was to go around the Aurora Society in the recent year and try not to provoke it again.
Apart from the Sequence 4 “Witch King” trait at the “Dark Sage”, there was only one place left that Emlyn White could think of:
”The Rose School!”
Whether it was the artificial vampires of the School of Life, or the “primordial moon” worshippers that had already existed in the Southern Continent, they all belonged to the School of Roses now.
Of course, there must be some guys who pursued freedom and didn’t join any of the organizations, but either they weren’t high on the list, or they didn’t have enough information to flow out.
As soon as he thought of the Rose School, Emlyn instantly remembered someone:
Maric!
Marich represented the sectarian faction of the Rose School, a force that rebelled against the Mother Tree of Desire.
”They also seem to want something from the Rose School, perhaps we can ask them to cooperate ……” Emlyn nodded his head with a small amplitude.
……
In Moon City, a portion of the residents gathered at the entrance in a slightly anxious manner, casting their eyes to the east from time to time.
They were the relatives of those led by the High Priest, and at the same time, they were also the representatives of the vast majority of the people of Moon City.
Finally, a little bit of firelight surfaced, and High Priest Nim returned to Moon City with Ruth and the others from afar.
A man greeted them, casting his eyes on his sister and realizing that a few tear tracks still remained on her face.
This Moon City resident who was not a Freak felt his brother’s gaze and opened his mouth with difficulty in containing the throbbing in his heart, tears streaming down his face before he could speak.
”God, God has come to save us ……,” she cried, weeping sadly and wantonly.
