Chapter 646: The New Noble
Masayoshi Kishimoto and Rie Sakai sat down at the round table in the small dining room. The two did not let Sakai Meiling’s mood be negatively affected in the slightest because she was in a foul mood.
“Today, I conducted a meeting with Kitagawa Eiko.” Masayoshi Kishimoto said in a cloudy voice.
Sakai Rie picked up the glass containing freshly squeezed orange juice and took a sip, “I don’t understand business matters.”
“And you don’t care about the outcome?” Justice Kishimoto asked with a smile.
“What’s there to care about? It’s not like we, the Kishimoto family, need to look at the Yanai family’s eyes to get by. The only reason I’m willing to make a match for Mrs. Yanai’s sister is because of Yuzuru’s love.” Sakai Rie said as she held the glass in her right hand.
“Sin, sin, you have inadvertently facilitated a sheep into a tiger’s mouth.” Masayoshi Kishimoto said as he ate.
Sakai Rie was taken aback for a moment. Of course she understood that the sheep represented definitely not him, but Kitagawa Eiko. How did this become a sheep in a tiger’s mouth?
Sakai Rie didn’t want to get to the bottom of it and said, ”You watch it. This year is your thirtieth birthday, how do you plan to spend it?”
“Birthdays are celebrated every year, nothing special. What do you have in mind?” Masayoshi Kishimoto had never valued his own birthdays.
He did not fail to think of his present-day self, which was different from the past. It was entirely possible to use his birthday as an excuse to socialize as necessary.
“No particular idea. Just let the two of us spend it together.” Rie Sakai said thinking that her family was strong enough.
“You’re not going to throw me a birthday party?” Masayoshi Kishimoto asked bluntly.
“Is there a need for this one as you say? Or, don’t you want to spend it alone with me?” Rie Sakai asked rhetorically.
“As you wish.” Masayoshi Kishimoto was completely indifferent. The only thing he himself was guilty of was the fact that on his birthday, screw it, he was going to blow out his birthday candles three times and eat his birthday cake three times.
At noon, he would spend his birthday with Natsui Makoto, and his own pair of children. He could enjoy his happy family life.
In the evening, he himself would spend his birthday sitting inside a three-star Michelin restaurant with Rie Sakai. As for whether to eat Western food or Japanese food, it didn’t matter at all.
All he had to do was to make some preparations in advance. He would have his head of the secretary’s office, Mirai Yamada, give him a call so that he could get away to Nao Fujie’s side to celebrate another birthday.
In one day, one would have to celebrate at least three birthdays like that. Of course, Fujie Nao’s side could be visited or not, while Natsui Makoto’s side had to be visited. When the time came, he would improvise.
“I’m the one who will listen to your arrangements, right!” Sakai Rie said as she took another sip of the freshly squeezed orange juice in the middle of the glass.
“Isn’t it my thirtieth birthday? How come it looks like I’m celebrating your birthday?” Masayoshi Kishimoto cried and laughed.
“Who knows if you’ll be free that day or not? Why don’t I make a reservation for you in advance?” Sakai Rie said with a hint in her words.
As soon as Masayoshi Kishimoto heard her words, he realized that the other party was intentionally swindling himself and said, “For your sake, even if I’m busy, I’ll still find time to spend my thirtieth birthday with you.”
“You have to keep your word.” Sakai Rie couldn’t help but purse her lips and said.
“Count, absolutely count. Are you sure you’re celebrating my thirtieth birthday and not me celebrating your thirtieth birthday?” Masayoshi Kishimoto once again cried and laughed.
The back of Sakai Rie’s left hand slid from top to bottom against the side of her face and said, “I’m so young and beautiful, I’m still far from thirty!”
“You’ll always be eighteen.” Justice Kishimoto blurted out.
“That’s right, for once you’re right. I salute you.” Sakai Rie said as she extended the glass she was holding on top of her right hand was towards him.
As soon as her words left her mouth, she smiled and tilted her head back to take a large sip. She was in a rather good mood and had long since put the matter of Sakai Mirei’s falling out with herself behind her.
“By the end of this year, the mansion in the Shinagawa district should be able to be completely finished. If there’s anything you’re not satisfied with and need to make a single modification, you can say so in advance.”
Masayoshi Kishimoto wasn’t going to worry about the quality of the house, after all, it was entrusted to Hard Gold Construction to do the work. This one small project was the president’s longtime residence, causing Katsuhei Yamaguchi to personally take charge of it.
Rie Sakai said thoughtfully, “We really need to move from here to Shinagawa-ku. It’s time for me to step down as the president of the Rosebud Society.”
“If you like it here, then I could just as well not move.” Masayoshi Kishimoto didn’t place any importance on living somewhere in Tokyo said.
“Empty? Wouldn’t it be a lot of work for us to shoot up the land and build it back up? It’s not the first time we’ve moved.
When you and I moved here from Ueno, Taito Ward, I was quite happy. Nishi-Mabu, Minato-ku, is a dream place for many people.
Really, once you’ve lived here for a long time, it doesn’t seem like much. Shinagawa-ku is one of the most popular places for the nouveau riche in Tokyo and Japan as a whole.
Our family is a true nouveau riche. I’m not sure I’ll be able to make any more agreeable friends if I really live over in Shinagawa Ward.” Rie Sakai said matter-of-factly.
“I’m leaving you in full charge of things inside the house. Even I myself am at your disposal. We’ll do whatever you say.
The bad thing about living in Shinagawa District for me is that I’ll have to work farther away in the future. The headquarters of the Hard Gold Group will be relocated from Ueno in the Taito district to Roppongi in the Minato district.
As for the good side, it is that the air is a bit better there, away from the hustle and bustle of the world, which is conducive to one’s cultivation.” Justice Kishimoto calmly said.
“Otherwise, we’ll stay here in Nishimabu, Minato, Monday through Friday. The remaining two days of the week will be spent at the mansion in Shinagawa-ku for the weekend?” Sakai Rie firstly still considered Kishimoto Masayoshi’s convenience on top of his work and said.
“Since it’s our Kishimoto family’s mansion, it’s only fair to stay there often. You can bring your child and stay at the mansion in Shinagawa-ku.
As for me, I’ll stay here during working hours. On Saturdays and Sundays, I’ll go to your place again.” Masayoshi Kishimoto said matter-of-factly.
Sakai Rie suddenly changed her eyes and stared at Kishimoto Masayoshi as if she were a police officer interrogating a murder suspect and said, “You’re not trying to get me out of the way so that you can do something stupid, are you?”
“What is the most important thing between a husband and wife? It’s not suspicion, but trust. Why can’t you always trust me?” Masayoshi Kishimoto said seriously.
“If you didn’t have any money, then I definitely wouldn’t bother to suspect you in the slightest. The problem lies in the fact that not only do you have money, but you also have a previous conviction and are a repeat offender.” Rie Sakai said with real difficulty in peace of mind at the thought of not being able to see him five nights out of the week.
