Chapter 424: The Bored Governor
There was a native guest in St. Louis, Philby, a senior MI6 officer and boss of the Cambridge Five. Specially coming over to fulfill a mission from the British Empire, he had come to see the Newfoundland Administrator to confer.
In all fairness, in how to face the Cambridge Five, Alan Wilson is full of contradictions, out of unlimited loyalty to the empire he should be to bring these traitors who hit us to justice, but doing so has a certain sense of danger.
First of all, the Cambridge Five were not rich or wealthy, which is why London did not think for a long time that they would become Soviet believers. As senior civil servants, the Cambridge Five had extensive contacts in both the civil service and politicians. These traitors were not to be messed with.
The remaining reason was that Alan Wilson always felt that at some time in the future, these people might be able to help themselves defeat some difficult opponent.
That opponent might be some nasty politician, about whose hands the British Empire was really in, those elected ministers thought it was them, but Whitehall up and down the country didn’t think so.
Whitehall just thought so, Allen Wilson had to pay it forward, it was well known that the Parliament of Newfoundland had been dissolved, there was no such thing as a Parliament in the colonial state.
So if, in the absence of a parliament, he, an administrator, had restored prosperity to Newfoundland, was it not proof that the so-called parliament, the parties, were simply insignificant?
So this gap in perception between civil servants and politicians, who is actually right, there should be a public debate.
It is now plain as day that politicians can be bought and capital has no motherland. It’s not that Alan Wilson wants to drive backwards, he feels that the aristocracy are more credible than those two groups, and he hopes that British politicians can learn from the United States, and be a real poser, and not always interfere with the normal functioning of the country.
But now, this dream is still in the stage of trying to realize, as the country where the modern parliamentary system originated. Britain has a heavy historical burden and it is not easy to subdue politicians. Even if the aristocracy and the civil service class join forces, the outcome is still unknown.
If such a person who dared to bring down the Emperor existed, there might be a chance of success.
Alan Wilson felt that Philby would be well suited to this role when necessary, and the other man was now in front of him, blabbering with an expression of loyalty to his country, “London means to have a secret meeting with the United States and Canada at a military base in the north in May.”
“Oh!” Alan Wilson nodded his head noncommittally, still having second thoughts about the matter of a Soviet spy ruling himself about the top secrets of the British Empire.
But when he thought of all the things the Tories had done, he still felt that a spy of Philby’s caliber would be acceptable.
“Alan, you don’t seem to be feeling excited about this, do you?” Philby said smilingly, “Actually, you can think about it, some important guests come to Newfoundland, there are always expenses, maybe they can contribute to the local economy.”
“That makes sense.” Allen Wilson instantly came to the spirit, solemnly nodded his head and said, “Americans are so rich, anyway, this kind of meeting goes through the process of public money, it shouldn’t be too much for me to carry out some operations.”
“What are you going to do?” Philby had a wary mind at once, reminding Alan Wilson to pay attention to the occasion, this is a big event involving the special relationship between Britain and the United States, as well as the thoughts of the Canadians, don’t mess around.
“It’s all right.” Alan Wilson stated that he certainly wasn’t going to mess around, “I just wanted to make my distinguished guests feel the hospitality of the citizens of Newfoundland, that’s not much of a mistake, is it?”
Early Monday morning, inside the ordinary apartment across the street from the Governor General’s residence. Fine rain tapped on the windows, the pattering rain stirred Alan Wilson’s heart with depression. This time he had been living a miserable life. The work was boring, either scratching numbers on the pile of annoying documents, or randomly revising those difficult manuscripts, or else liaising with the colonial officials all over the world on the telegraph, and then continue to be dull.
Thankfully, he had Vivien Leigh to come over from time to time for companionship, in order to find a warm harbor for his heart from being exiled to the edge of the world.
Indeed is too bland, if it is in British India, he is able to find things to do from beginning to end of a whole year, really can not shoot two anti-British elements can also be happy happy, but not in Newfoundland, he has to pretend to be overworked.
Actually, I can’t say he was pretending, he was really overworked with a couple of distinguished American guests for company.
“Did that official from London come after you?” Vivien Leigh wrapped her arms around Alan Wilson’s neck, wanting to know why her beloved was unhappy.
This heart of screwing up, but being in a place where you can predict what’s going to happen in the day from the time you get up in the morning?
This feeling Alan Wilson had a hard time explaining to Vivien Leigh, “Vivien, Newfoundland can be a retirement mecca, but it’s too boring for someone my age.”
“Is it boring to play me too?” Vivienne rubbed Allen Wilson’s cheek, a sentence that almost inflated Allen Wilson.
Playing this vocabulary, Allen Wilson didn’t like it, so he categorically corrected Fei Wen Li’s use of words, stating that the two were in love with each other, and couldn’t use this kind of vocabulary to tarnish the feelings between the two, and that if the two had a child, could they talk so much about the process of the two all the way in front of the child?
“I was wrong!” Feiwenli a face of happiness, in Alan Wilson’s ear, “I must give you a son.”
“It’s good to have a daughter, maybe she’s as beautiful as you, not maybe, but for sure.” Allen Wilson’s face was serious, coaxing the Great British Treasure into a blissful state of mind, and even his hand had already unconsciously touched his own abdomen, mentioning to experience that kind of feeling.
Newfoundland in the general environment is indeed very boring, which will not change because there are a few actresses here with her, unaware of the fact that the drug does not get rid of the root cause, but can only play a slowing role. The result is that they cause chronic poisoning. All drugs have side effects. The food we eat is no exception: refined white bread, refined candies, milk from artificial feedlots, and so on. Any food that is refined and processed changes its nature.
The lean body even from the logging area was quickly restored to its former self, but the orthopedic practice has been steadily refined, and the Newfoundland administrator’s handiwork has been widely praised by several women, especially in the area of after-sales service.
The excellent imperial civil servant had begun to have a tendency to indulge in beauty, forgetting the philosophy and perseverance that had always been in place.
It was only strange! At the critical moment, Alan Wilson, who had already disdained verbal sparring, still found the value of existence to greet the first boatload of food coming from the United States, including, but not limited to, pork knuckles, and all kinds of offal.
It could be said to be very fair compared to normal prices, and it was in keeping with the good habits of thrift and frugality that he had always practiced. Straight away, he left some behind to build a fire and cook to show Fei Wenli’s few people his handiwork.
“Honestly, I’m feeling like I’m turning into a fish.” Ellen Wilson was excitedly simmering the soup, and in a daredevil tone, she rushed at the few waiting women.
“I’ve never had this part before!” Hedy Lamarr watched with some misgivings as Ellen Wilson busied herself.
“I’ve heard it has a cosmetic effect, that’s what the Orientals say.” Allen Wilson continued to busy himself without looking back.
“Then I’m going to try it.” Hedy Lamarr readily accepted the good advice, stating that the world was so big that one should try ingredients from different civilizations, which would be conducive to broadening one’s horizons, for example, Allen Wilson’s handful of orthopedic bones was very comforting.
Turning his back to a few women Allen Wilson skimmed his lips and even shook his body from side to side, there is a saying that shaking his head and tail wagging, which is an appropriate way to describe his current state.
Actually, judging by the after-dinner stats, it worked out pretty well, without so much as a hint of discomfort. At least Alan Wilson was drunk and full, and he could finally say goodbye to bread and butter and all kinds of fish.
Alan Wilson, who had already spent enough time in St. John’s, decided to walk around and give a few of his guests a visualization of Newfoundland.
And Philby returned back from the military base in northern Newfoundland and looked for Alan Wilson just in time to pounce.
At this time Allen Wilson was taking a couple of Croatians to protect a few women on a bit of a trip through Newfoundland. As he said to a few women, make sure you take in some of nature’s wonders.
“What did Alan do?” Philby asked as he found the local magistrate, Smallwood.
“I heard it was a thank you, Ms. Vivien Leigh took a few friends, to contribute to the popularity of Newfoundland, so they were taken on a trip around the island, and since this island is off the beaten path and not small, the Administrator had to follow for safety reasons.” Smallwood repeated as he recalled Alan Wilson’s words.
“So that’s it!” Philby nodded in understanding, if he was with one of them, there might still be a male-female relationship, if several actresses were there there would be nothing to suspect, and it would be possible to put several such beautiful women at ease at the same time?
Philby, who considered himself to be a man of some accomplishment in London social circles, couldn’t even begin to imagine the event.
Alan Wilson was, of course, at a southern beach in Newfoundland, which was much nicer than St. John’s and a great place to swim. Of course, the only people who swam there were a few people like Alan Wilson.
“I’ve heard that a bathing suit called bikini has appeared in France, and it would look absolutely very beautiful on you guys.” Allen Wilson’s gaze kept making Ingrid Bergman appear within sight, Ingrid Bergman was wearing a one-piece dress that was very much in line with the conservative style of this era, and compared to a few other actresses, the Swedish actress’s body shape was simply at the nuclear bomb level.
“How do you know about that kind of stuff!” Hedy Lamarr stared into Alan Wilson’s eyes and said, “An administrator thinks about these things inside his head every day?”
“So you know too.” Allen Wilson’s face was full of I understand, “Tell me, did you secretly collect a few sets? Did you bring them over?”
