The two of them cuddled and snuggled with each other until the early hours of the morning, and then threw themselves into the nervousness of the wedding.

Due to the tense atmosphere of the current situation in Europe, as well as Alan Wilson’s job considerations, Pamela Mountbatten made a compromise and was not prepared to make a big announcement.

As it was twenty-nine years ago, this wedding took place in the Westminster Abbey chosen by Pamela Mountbatten’s parents.

“Alan, I’m not really used to this kind of occasion. Especially with so many guests!” Turing was a little rattled, he wasn’t quite used to this kind of occasion, let alone the fact that he was Alan Wilson’s best man.

“Oh, my friend, just do yourself a favor.” Alan Wilson patted his best man on the shoulder, pretending not to know even though he knew there was something wrong with Turing’s orientation, “There aren’t many civil servants my age in Whitehall, and even fewer who aren’t married. Instead of that it would be better to have someone as best man who doesn’t know anyone.”

It was to Turing’s advantage that, even in matters of orientation, class differences have different consequences.

Burgess and Maclean had such problems, even sort of semi-publicly, but who dared to make trouble? Turing, for one, was caught and persecuted, and it didn’t come down to a difference in origin and the existence of a gap in connections.

“But, Alan, today is an absolutely happy day for you.” Retracting his gaze from the group of Whitehall civil servants not far away, Turing smilingly expressed his congratulations.

“Fortunately!” Alan Wilson said with a smug expression on his face as he reached out and glanced at the wristwatch on his wrist.

Alan Wilson’s greeters were all Whitehall civil servants, each one suited and booted with a reserved, nonchalant smile.

The other group, a group of officers in naval dress, were friends of Admiral Mountbatten. Edwina? Ashley, on the other hand, was in the midst of a group of business friends.

As for the larger group, is with the title of the Duke and Earl of the aristocratic group, together more than Whitehall, the Navy and the business community number of people all, gathered guests including the Crown Prince couple on behalf of the royal family, as well as the Duke and Earl of the forest, the Navy, Whitehall, the business community, a total of more than eight hundred people.

Of course Alan Wilson’s invited two friends are also the presence of quite high, McCarthy MP is in the Whitehall group among the network building work, and Princess Badia is in the Crown Prince and his wife next to the idle chat.

There were also a number of Londoners stopping to watch outside the fence in Parliament Square. Pamela Mountbatten and bridesmaid Princess Margaret appeared, wearing a white wedding dress, under the veil of Pamela Mountbatten face shy, on the contrary, or to be a bridesmaid Princess Margaret is very calm, accompanied the bride to complete a link.

Alan Wilson and Pamela Mountbatten stepped into the church, to the already waiting Mr. and Mrs. Mountbatten nodded in greeting.

Mr. and Mrs. Mountbatten, in turn, smiled in response, and Mr. and Mrs. Patricia watched the scene with smiles.

“My dear, I seemed to be behaving much more decently then.” John Brabourne whispered to his wife, Patricia Mountbatten, “In retrospect, didn’t I.”

“You were being silly!” Patricia Mountbatten glanced at her husband and debunked without mercy.

Alan Wilson, who was already standing in front of the priest, inquired softly to Pamela Mountbatten, “Is there anything I should be aware of?”

“Whatever you want!” Pamela Mountbatten snickered without looking away and continued to listen to the priest’s teachings.

The next moment Alan Wilson grabbed Pamela Mountbatten’s hand, and since there was nothing to preach about there was no problem.

The two held hands and took their vows in front of the priest, and a loud applause erupted throughout the church, enveloping the two.

“My dear, I wonder how many people contain malice towards me and would love to take my place immediately.” Alan Wilson craned his neck and said in a victorious tone, “That’s simply impossible.”

“Absolutely impossible!” Pamela Mountbatten sang in unison, standing shoulder-to-shoulder with Allen Wilson to show her approval of the man beside her ownership of her person. The two smiled as they received the blessings of all the guests.

The two each took their best man and maid of honor to express their gratitude to the guests who came by, shaking hands with every guest who came by on principle. Thankfully, there was no need to toast each and every one, otherwise this would have been a deadly affair.

Pamela Mountbatten introduced her husband to every aristocrat who came, and Alan Wilson introduced his wife to the Whitehall officials who came, and with smiles that never went away, the two opened the round of thanks.

Until the afternoon, the two had shaken hands five hundred times, and there were still more than four hundred guests who hadn’t made it, and it was incredibly busy.

Fortunately, Princess Margaret was helping out, as for Alan Wilson, the best man, Mr. Turing, he had long since disappeared to nowhere and had probably left the wedding site.

Two o’clock in the afternoon, overtime in British Malaya has arrived, the two finally completed the nervous handshake characters, in all fairness, can remember very few people, two people’s qualifications after all, just ordinary people.

As relieved as they were, the two looked at each other and smiled, returning to free agency of sorts after bidding farewell to the Crown Prince and his wife.

“I’m going to change into a casual dress!” Pamela Mountbatten, who was wearing a wedding dress, said so, making Allen Wilson wait.

“Congratulations, you’ve tricked Pamela into it.” Princess Margaret who stayed here looked straight at Alan Wilson and spoke in a complicated tone.

“Honorable Princess, you have to understand that this thing called love one-sidedly gives no results. It’s still our mutual attraction that occupies most of the factors, and of course the most important thing is that the Mountbatten family recognizes me, which is very gratifying. As long as Pamela’s parents express any resentment, there will be no such day.”

Alan Wilson, in a soothing mood, ignored Her Highness’s taunts and responded with a smile in return, “Sooner or later Your Highness will have such a day, I wonder who will be so lucky.”

“Who will be so lucky?” Princess Margaret muttered, tilting her head and bristling, “Probably a coward like you.”

“I just realized I’m associated with words like coward.” Alan Wilson looked shocked, he hadn’t seemed to have anything to do with the word since he was an adult, his mood of pain and pleasure because of the wedding evaporated all at once, and tilted his head down at the princess Bibi, “How am I a coward? I’ve done things that would scare your boobs off if I told them.”

“You defy an important member of the royal family!” Princess Margaret responded defiantly and not surprised, “You are a coward.”

“Ellen!” Before the man arrived, McCarthy’s voice accompanied by footsteps had already come.

Alan Wilson decisively terminated the conversation about cowards and moved his body to block in front of Princess Margaret, facing McCarthy with his back to the princess.

Princess Margaret’s head stuck out from behind the man’s back, a look of non-surprise still lingering on her face.

So McCarthy emerged to see, such a slightly comical scene, and for a moment did not know what to say.

“Joseph, it’s been a bit of a slow day, as you can see there are very many guests.” Alan Wilson had no eyes behind him, naturally he didn’t know that a head came out and sized up McCarthy with a dissatisfied look.

“Uh, Your Highness, I’m a friend of Alan’s.” Senator McCarthy, in a rare moment of nervousness, was a far cry from his mouthy self in Parliament, wondering if he had discovered some unearthly royal secret.

McCarthy, when not in a drunken state, can be considered a good and nice person, treating people kindly and full of enthusiasm.

Alan Wilson’s took the initiative to ask McCarthy if he was in a hurry to get back to the U.S., and after making sure that the other party had plenty of time, spoke up, “Joseph, I have something to share with you, and if your schedule isn’t pressing, let’s talk.”

“Of course it’s no problem, the President can’t wait for me to spend more time in foreign countries, but don’t go back to Washington and get him in trouble.” McCarthy wore a very cocky grin, expressing his contempt for Truman.

“Actually, the circumstances have changed, the Republicans have taken back Congress, and your accusations, even if justified. It’s also time to tone down the wording a bit. Joseph, I am saying this solely because I am an Englishman with no stake in your American politics.” Alan Wilson spoke with a sincere face, “After this election, if the Republican Party returns to power, you don’t want to be the same as you are now.”

McCarthy in 1951 was, basically, blaming Truman, especially after MacArthur was removed.

Under the pretext of Truman’s removal of MacArthur, the U.S. commander-in-chief in the Korean War, McCarthy gave one of the longest speeches of his life at the State Department in which he directly blamed General George C. Marshall, the former special envoy to China, secretary of state, and secretary of defense, and whom Truman had called “the greatest man in the world today,” as a key architect of the Truman administration’s foreign policy.

In the 60,000-word speech, he charged Marshall with being a traitor and a murderer, saying that he had opposed the opening of a second front in the Balkans in World War II, allowing the Soviet Union to reach Eastern Europe ahead of the Western Allies; that he had hoodwinked Roosevelt at the Yalta Conference, allowing the Soviet Union to gain territorial and other advantages; and that he had betrayed the Cannon Party during his tenure as President Truman’s special envoy to China to mediate the conflict.

In Allen Wilson’s view, accusing Marshall had shown signs of McCarthy’s danger. It was only now that the threat was manageable, and if he continued to make accusations against prominent generals in the U.S. military later, McCarthy would surely hit the wall.

Just by McCarthy is now in London, he pig it than these days and McCarthy talk. It was also just the right time to observe if there was a follow-up to the dangerous Soviet maneuvers in Berlin.

“The Honorable Senator Joseph, I’ve heard about you from Alan.” Changed clothes Pamela Mountbatten came out, just happened to see Allen Wilson and McCarthy are exchanging, Pamela Mountbatten directly held Princess Margaret’s hand, spoke, “We first send Margaret back, and then sit down together to talk about it how.”

Who wants to go back! Princess Margaret’s face crumpled, and in her heart, she reluctantly bellyached.
