Chapter 4: Going to Guo’s house

After lunch, I went back to the classroom, wrote a fake note, put it on the desk, packed my bag, and left the classroom.

Su Rou was already waiting for me outside, carrying a flat yellow army satchel, probably with an empty lunch box inside.

The little girl tilted her head and thought about it for a while, probably because of the candy, she let us in.

As the little girl closed the door, I put my arm around Su Rou’s shoulders and said, “Give it to me. I’ve seen it all.”

“I was going to ask you, you didn’t give me any good food, I thought you were my brother.” Su Rou was furious.

“Who said I wasn’t going to give it to you? I was going to give it to you after school. I’ll give it to the little girl later. Look at her, she’s so pitiful.” I whispered.

I was furious. I was about to give Su Rou a couple of slaps, but then I noticed that the little girl was standing in front of us and asked, “Why aren’t you going in?”

Only then did Su Rou and I realize what had happened. We looked up and were immediately stunned by the sight in the courtyard.
